When to go to Emergency Department vs Urgent Care

    • Emergency Department:

If you are experiencing any of these call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room*

      • Life-threatening conditions:  Chest pain, difficulty breathing, sudden weakness or numbness, severe allergic reactions with difficult breathing, severe burns, severe injuries or symptoms of stroke or heart attack
      • Serious trauma: Major injuries such as head trauma, severe burns, deep cuts, severe fractures, or injuries involving loss of consciousness
      • Severe symptoms: Sudden and severe abdominal pain, shortness of breath, heavy bleeding, sudden confusion, seizures or loss of consciousness
      • Medical Emergencies: Heart attack or stroke, severe allergic reactions, poisoning, or any condition where delay in treatment could result in serious harm or death
  • Urgent Care:
    • Minor Injuries: Cuts, burns, minor fractures, sprains, strains and minor injuries that are nonlife-threatening
    • Common illness: Cold, flu, sore throat, ear infections urinary tract infections, mild allergic reactions
    • Non-emergency symptoms: Symptoms that are concerning but not immediately life-threatening
    • Minor medical issues: Minor fevers, mild dehydration, or minor infections
