Let us support your wellness journey by improving

your physical, emotional, and mental well-being.

Why intravenous (IV) therapy?

Designed to bypass the digestive system and liver for direct delivery into the bloodstream for optimal absorption of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, amino acids, and electrolytes by our cells. Unfortunately, our food supply no longer provides us with the essential nutrients needed to maintain a long, sustainable, healthy life. What's more, much of the efficacy of oral vitamin supplementation is lost with being digested.

Our bodies are made primarily of water, so proper hydration is a vital component for the body to maintain peak performance.

IV therapy is the most direct way to revitalize and nourish our cells, the building blocks of our well-being.

Annette Perdue

Kensho's Nevada City lounge is staffed by local nurse Annette Perdue.

Annette Perdue has been a Registered Nurse since 2017, specializing in Emergency Medicine. She received a Bachelor's degree in Anthropology from the University Of Nevada, Reno, and an Associate's degree in nursing from the College of the Redwoods in Eureka, CA. Annette spent 20+ years in the hospitality industry excelling in customer service and care. Annette has an incredible ability to anticipate the needs of others, coupled with her emergency training, she is able to respond quickly and execute patient care with the utmost precision and empathy.

Annette was born and raised in Santa Rosa, CA. She moved to North Lake Tahoe in 2001 to pursue her passion for skiing. In 2011 she met her husband, Ryan, and relocated to Humboldt County to begin a life with him and his two young sons. Her husband, who is also an RN, inspired Annette to go back to school to become a nurse. They moved to Nevada City in 2020 and both are currently employed at Dignity Health in Grass Valley.

Annette moved to Nevada City, after raising a family, with the intent to tend to her mental, physical, and spiritual well-being. Her passion resides in health and wellness by eating healthy and exercising regularly. Many days you can find her playing outdoors, be it skiing, surfing, paddle boarding, or mountain biking. She is motivated to be at the forefront of health and is excited to be working with a team at Kensho that is inspiring people to take control of their well-being and to live longer healthier lives. She shines a light and brings ease to anyone who has the pleasure of crossing paths with her.

Myth vs Fact

Myth - a needle remains in the arm during the duration of IV therapy

Fact -  a needle does pierce the skin initially to thread a small, pliable catheter into the vein. The needle is removed immediately after placement to allow mobility.

Do IV’s hurt?

We use the smallest of needles to place the pliable catheter. A little pinch will be felt initially and then there should be no pain associated with the IV. You have the ability to move your arm to read a book, use your phone or laptop, and walk to the restroom.

Why are vitamins and antioxidants important?

Vitamin deficiencies can contribute to a variety of acute and long-term medical conditions. Unfortunately, our food sources no longer contain adequate vitamins and minerals, so supplementation is necessary. Due to a variety of inflammatory conditions involving the gastrointestinal tract, many of us are unable to absorb the necessary nutrients. This makes IV infusions the ideal way for our bodies to absorb nearly 100% of what is given.

Antioxidants are an essential part of maintaining healthy immune function by detoxifying your body of free radicals that can contribute to cellular damage or DNA damage. Our DNA is our operating system to maintain a healthy life.

How often should I receive IV therapy or vitamin shots?

This varies for each individual depending on how nutrient depleted you are with the initial treatment.

For those trying to overcome the effects of an illness, we recommend more frequently at first, once a week, tapering down to once every two weeks, to once a month.

If you are trying to achieve a longer, healthier, sustainable life, most clients return between every two weeks to once a month.
